Final course of our Introducing the Book of Common Prayer series: Singing the Prayer Book

Singing the Prayer Book is a thought-provoking look at the ways music is woven into the very fabric of the Book of Common Prayer.  Milner Seifert explains how the rubrics in the seifertPrayer Book instruct us in musical accompaniment, then walks us through the psalms and canticles, anthems, congregational singing, and the myriad supplemental resources we have in addition to the Hymnal 1982. This course is a fabulous introduction to the ways we use music in the Episcopal Church and the ways that music enhances our worship experience.

This is the last in our 8-part series called Introducing the Book of Common Prayer, brought to us by our partners at Bexley Seabury Federation, an Episcopal center for learning and development. Bexley offers online and in-person classes for everyone at its Chicago, IL and Columbus, OH campuses. For more information visit www.bexleyseabury.edu.
